This design lasted until 1992, when it was replaced by a more modernized look featuring three letters: NJD, standing for New Jersey Devils, arranged diagonally inside a black shield with red outlines on each side. When using the Duke wordmark, always use an official logo file. The Duke wordmark is set in the typeface Garamond LT 3. It featured a red-and-black color scheme with two mountains flanking either side of “DEVILS” written across them in white lettering. Additional copy, images or any other new elements should not be added to the wordmark without approval. The original logo was designed in 1982 when the team joined the NHL as the Colorado Rockies. The New Jersey Devils have a long and storied history, and their wordmark logo is essential to that.
